About Pauline Whittaker Dog Training School:
Pauline Whittaker
Pauline Whittaker is an extremely well qualified Dog Trainer and Behaviourist and has long and varied experience in dog training. Her qualifications in dog training and behaviour include:
To ensure that she is fully up to date with current knowledge and methods about Canine Behaviour and Training, Pauline regularly attends seminars and workshops on everything from aggression to clicker training All Dog Trainers at PWDTS use Pauline's Principles of Training which emphasise the use of Kind, Fair and Effective methods. To reinforce this ethical stance the dog trainers are each independently assessed by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). She is also a member of the APDT, No 00744 and has previously been the Committee Secretary and an Assessor for them.
Experience As well as her experience in training dogs professionally, Pauline has always lived with dogs, growing up with a Basset Hound and Golden Retrievers and more recently Border Collies and Working Sheepdogs. She has owned rescue dogs and rehomed dogs as well as those acquired as a puppy. Currently she lives in Worcestershire with two working sheepdogs. She competes in agility with both her dogs. On this solid basis Pauline has developed some very successful principles of training.
Pauline Whittaker is now offering the benefit of her qualifications, experience and principles in a range of dog training and behaviour solutions in the Worcestershire area.
Mari Griffith - Trainee Instructor
I am a trainee instructor at the Pauline Whittaker Dog Training School currently helping to take agility classes and also assisting at the evening classes. Under Pauline's supervision would like to gain some qualifications in dog training/behaviour. I am the Senior Veterinary Nurse at a busy Veterinary Clinic in Worcester, and in my spare time I look after my border collie Joey and my two rescue cats, three legged Ringo and Star. I am continuing to train Joey in Agility and am hoping to take him to some shows later on this year.
Paula Cox – Trainee Instructor
Over the past 10 years, my husband and I have had 4 weimaraners. We presently own 2 and I currently work Lotty (the younger, more lively one) in Pauline's Advanced class. I completed a 'Dog Trainer's Instructors Course' at Harper Adams College in August 2002 whilst helping at Hertford & District Dog Training Society. We moved from Hertfordshire to Worcestershire in 2005 and after a break from dog training, I am now working towards qualifying as an APDT trainer under Pauline's supervision.
Gavin Jeff - Trainee Dog Trainer
I currently assist with the evening classes in Wichenford and occasionally at the Outdoor classes. I enjoy putting my own dog through the agility classes and look forward to where this might lead. My ambition is to gain a greater understanding of dog behaviour and at some stage I would like to try and apply this to dogs in the rescue centres in the hope of helping to rehome them faster. I look forward to gaining more experience and qualifications with Pauline's guidance.I have previously attended a dog club for two years and whilst volunteer dog walking at various local rescue centres, I gained a good deal of experience walking many different breeds and temperaments, This is how I came to rescue my own dog Polo, a Parson Russell Terrier. I currently walk and assist with the training of a GSD on a one to one basis, under Pauline's supervision. |
